    • To turn a sentence into Passive you have to make a new sentence in which the object of the verb becomes the new subject

    • Dear students,

You have to do the first three exercises on the HI page. They're for revision. You don't need to give them to me, but you can send me your questions and doubts.

      * Check how to use the Present Perfect Continuous.

You have to cover unit 7 in your New Headway  Intermediate and ask me if there's something you don't understand. We can also use the FORUM for that purpose.

You can use the workbook to practice.

      Best wishes!

      E

    • Check the differences between these two tenses.

When you use the Present Perfect Continuous the consequences of the action are present right now.

Eg. A: You look terribly tired!

B: Yes, I've been studying all night long.

*Read pages 54, 55, 56, 57, 58 and 59 in your books and do the exercises. Let me know if you have doubts or problems.

    • Read this information about Present Perfect Continuous and do the exercises in your workbook unit 7.

    • In case you don't have them: the student's book and the workbook.

    • Study this chart and work on page 60. Let me know if you have doubts.

      *Expressing feeling and opinions:

+positive: adore, be keen on (like), be crazy about, be fond of (like)

-negative: loathe (hate), can't stand, can't bear

.neutral: quite like, be not that keen on, don't mind

On page 61 words to express AGREEMENT, SYMPATHY, PLEASURE and SURPRISE

    • When the active sentence has an indirect object and a direct object, you'd rather use the indirect object as the subject of the new sentence. That's grammatically more appropriate, though the other one is right anyway.

Eg. He gave me a heart on one of his Instagram stories.

Passive: *** I was given a heart in one of his Instagram stories.

*A heart was given to me in one of his Instagram stories.
